CLIENT GROOMING AGREEMENT

The pet stylest at Angel Paws dog grooming and training aims to provide your pet(s) with a pleasant and rewarding grooming experience. However, it is important to understand that some pets respond to grooming differently, even with our best efforts. As grooming is a "team" effort between groomer, pet and owner, we hope that by reading this agreement we are able to give you a better understanding of our job. Thank you.

Vaccinations and Veterinarian Information

By agreeing to this agreement, owners verify that their pet(s) are up to date with their annual C5 vaccinations. Proof of vaccinations shall be provided to Angel Paws upon request as well as current veterinarian information. Special circumstances will be taken into consideration.

Aggressive or Dangerous Pets

Owners must inform Angel Paws if your pet(s) bite, has bitten or is aggressive to people, other pets or specific grooming procedures. Muzzles may be used if necessary. Muzzling will not harm your pet and protects both the pet and the groomer. Angel Paws reserves the right to refuse/stop services for such pet(s) at any time before or during the grooming process and charge an Aggressive Dog Fee in addition to the regular grooming charge.

Health or Medical Problems, Senior Pets

Grooming procedures can sometimes be stressful, especially for a senoir pet or pet with health problems, and can expose hidden medical problems or aggravate a current one during or after the groom. Because senior pets and pets with health problems have a greater chance of injury, these pets will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort, in styles that will not add to their stress.

In the best interest of your pet this agreement will give Angel Paws persmission to obtain immediate veterinarian should it be deemed necessary by Angel Paws. We will do our best to contact you first, and then take your pet to your authorized veterinarian or to the nearest veterinarian that is available. It is agreed that all expenses for veterinarian care will be covered by the pet's owner upon reading and agreeing to this agreement.

Matted Hair Removal

Pets with matted coats need extra attention during thier grooming session. Mats left in a pet's coat only grow tighter an can stangle the pet's skin or eventually tear it open. Angel Paws does not wish to cause serious or undue stress to your pet, and will not continually de-matt your pet for you. Mats can be very difficult to remove and may require the pet to be shaved. When necessary, removing a heavily matted coat includes risks of nicks, cuts or abrasions due to warts, moles, or skin folds trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the pet's skin allowing mould, fungus or bacteria to grow, casuing skin irritations that exisited prior to the grooming process. Torn skin from mats can also harbour maggots.

After effects of mat removal procedure can include itchiness, skin redness, self inflicted irritation or abrasions and failure of the hair re-growth. Shaved pets are also prone to sunburn and should either have sunscreen applied daily or should be kept out of the sun until  the hair grows sufficiently to protect the skin. In some cases pets may also exhibit brief behavioural changes. Prevention is the best defense against matting by scheduling regular grooming appointments. An extra charge applies for de-matting.

Accidents

There is always the possibility an accident could occur. Grooming equipment is sharp, even though Angel Paws uses extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems could occur including, cuts, nicks, scratches, quicking of nails etc. In most cases this can happen when a pet is wiggling or moving around. During the grooming session please don't allow your dog to see you or talk to it as this encourages the dog to move and wiggle. Every effort will be made to insure your pets is groomed as safely as possible. If you insist on talking to your pet or groomer we resever the right to end the grooming session, even if the groom is not completed and the full grooming price will be charged.

Parasites

If you suspect your pet has fleas or ticks, prompt and thorough action on YOUR part is needed. Flea infestations  can lead to tapeworm and othe health problems. If flea or ticks are found during the grooming process, your pet will be treated with a natural product to kill the parasite and you will charged for it. Ticks found will be removed. If ticks are found we strongly suggest close observation of your pet to look for early signs of tick paralysis which could require immediate veterinary attention. Please note that parasites are health hazard to your pet as well as humans.

Cancellations and No Payments

Please provide Angel Paws with at least 3 hours notice of any cancellations. Failure to meet this time frame could result in a $25 Cancellation Fee, per pet.

If you have made a booking that you will not be present for, please ensure that you leave the payment at the arranged location.
